Second graders at Harley Avenue Primary School expanded their knowledge about leadership and rules at the assembly “How Leaders Make and Enforce Rules” on Sept. 19.

During the assembly, students had the unique opportunity to speak with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Bossert and Principal Elissa Toubin. They discussed what makes someone a leader and students asked questions about making and enforcing school rules.

The second-grade students have been learning about citizenship and have been creating rules for their classrooms. “We are hoping that this assembly gives them some further insight as to how rules are made and enforced in our school community,” said Special Education Teacher Cindy Santoriello. “We also hope that the children develop a further understanding of the importance and purpose of rules. School rules keep us safe and help us to do our best learning.”
