Students at James H. Boyd Intermediate School recently collected approximately 1,000 coats this holiday season for those in need. The coats were donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters in Huntington.

During the months of November and December, students from Mrs. Cromwell’s, Mrs. Jantzen’s, Mrs. Innace’s, Mrs. Theodorellis’, and Mrs. Decker’s classes united to promote the coat drive. They designed and hung banners around school and urged their families and friends to donate.

Prior to the holiday break, the students helped load the collected coats onto the Big Brothers Big Sisters truck. Mrs. Innace stated, “The kids truly felt like Santa Claus – they take so much joy in helping others.”
