Congratulations to Elwood-John H. Glenn High School senior John Linitz, who received the Mentoring Achievement Award from the Mentoring Partnership of Long Island. John is the first peer mentor ever honored with this award, as it is typically reserved for adult members. In addition to granting John this great honor, the Mentoring Partnership of Long Island awarded $500 to the high school in John’s name, to be used for the school’s mentoring program. John has been a member of the JGHS Mentoring Program for the past three years. According to Dr. Anthony Pantaleno, the school’s mentoring program coordinator, “John is one of those students who is so much wiser than his years. He is an exceptional listener. He respects that people need their space and gives them as much as they need.”
