As former principal Sharon McCabe steps into her new role of retiree, James H. Boyd Intermediate School welcomes, with open arms, the newest member of the Elwood Union Free School District family, Principal Pamela Fine. Ms. Fine joins the district with 18 years of educational experience, including, most recently, seven years as principal of the John Lewis Childs School in Floral Park. Prior to this role, Ms. Fine spent 11 years in District 22 of the New York City Public Schools, where she held the positions of classroom teacher, literacy staff developer and assistant principal.

Ms. Fine earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education, which she obtained from Iona College and the College of Staten Island, respectively.  She also holds an Advanced Certificate in Administration and Supervision from Brooklyn College.

“I’m excited to be joining the Elwood School District and the James H. Boyd Intermediate School,” stated Ms. Fine. “From what I have learned so far, the faculty, staff, families and community have a vested interest in providing the children of Elwood with an outstanding instructional experience. I am looking forward to contributing to those efforts.”
