Students from Mr. Lauro's fifth-grade class at James H. Boyd Intermediate School demonstrated terrific character by cleaning up the Boyd reading garden. The children pulled weeds that grew over the summer in order to make it usable for their peers. "It's one thing to teach character education by reading a text,” said Mr. Lauro, “but the children really grasp the concept better by doing something positive for their community." The garden looks terrific and is ready for use!
