The Elwood-John H. Glenn High School Orchestra String Ensemble will perform in the first LIU Post String Festival – The Tango Project at the Tilles Center in Brookville on Nov. 6. This is the first time a group of Elwood musicians will perform as a complete ensemble in the venue.

The Elwood orchestra will perform three tangos before being joined on stage by the LIU Post Symphony Orchestra and two Nassau County high school ensembles for three additional tangos. The combined performances will be led by Jaime Braude, a world-renowned expert on the interpretation of the tango, and Maureen Hynes, conductor of the LIU Post Symphony Orchestra.

The festival is being presented by the School of Visual Arts and the Department of Music, in collaboration with the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. For more information, call 516-299-2475 or visit
