In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, faculty members from Harley Avenue Primary School, James H. Boyd Intermediate School and Elwood Middle School united to purchase “Keep Calm and Shine On” T-shirts to benefit Autism Speaks. Through their purchase, a total of $930 went toward the organization to help fund research, educational programming and family support.

At Boyd, students in Mr. Lauro and Mrs. Santoriello’s class also helped raise awareness of autism by creating a design in front of the school using blue cups. Working as a team, the students applied their measurement skills to form the slogan “Autism Awareness” on the school’s front fence.
