Fourth-grade student Esa Bell from James H. Boyd Intermediate School assumed the role of principal for the day on May 5. As part of a fundraiser for the Elwood Education Endowment, Esa won the opportunity to lead the school for the day. Under the guidance of interim principal Lynn Burke, Esa assisted with a variety of duties throughout the day, including overseeing student arrival, delivering the morning announcements, and touring the building to check in on fourth and fifth-grade classrooms. She even worked during her lunch period, helping to prepare third-graders for what to expect in the fourth grade. “She has a very busy schedule today,” said Ms. Burke. “She is doing a fabulous job!”
