At its business meeting on Sept. 18, the Board of Education accepted a number of donations to the district’s schools. The Elwood Booster Club donated $11,871 to fund the International Club, Robotics Club, TV/Media Club and Morning Homework Club at Elwood Middle School for the 2014-15 school year. The Elwood Booster Club also donated $1,145 to fund the purchase of five Hovercam T3 document cameras for Harley Avenue Primary School.

Target made a donation of $501.57 through its Take Charge of Education program to fund materials and supplies at James H. Boyd Intermediate School, another donation in the amount of $603.17 to fund library materials and supplies at Elwood Middle School, and $382.18 to fund co-curricular contractual expenses at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School.

According to the trustees of the Board of Education, “We thank the Elwood Booster Club and Target for their generous contributions to our district. Donations like these support our educational and co-curricular program and allow us to offer opportunities for our students that otherwise would not be possible.”
