Community Donations
At its business meeting on Sept. 18, the Board of Education accepted a
number of donations to the district’s schools. The Elwood Booster Club
donated $11,871 to fund the International Club, Robotics Club, TV/Media
Club and Morning Homework Club at Elwood Middle School for the 2014-15
school year. The Elwood Booster Club also donated $1,145 to fund the
purchase of five Hovercam T3 document cameras for Harley Avenue Primary
School.
Target made a donation of $501.57 through its Take Charge of Education
program to fund materials and supplies at James H. Boyd Intermediate
School, another donation in the amount of $603.17 to fund library
materials and supplies at Elwood Middle School, and $382.18 to fund
co-curricular contractual expenses at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School.
According to the trustees of the Board of Education, “We thank the
Elwood Booster Club and Target for their generous contributions to our
district. Donations like these support our educational and co-curricular
program and allow us to offer opportunities for our students that
otherwise would not be possible.”
