Community Donations
At its business meeting on Oct. 23, the Board of Education accepted a number of donations to the district’s schools. The Elwood Booster Club donated $1,400 to fund leveled Big Books at Harley Avenue, as well as $7,001.14 to fund classroom-leveled libraries at Harley.
Target made a donation of $1,333.73 through its Take Charge of Education program to fund cultural arts programs at Harley. In addition, the Elwood Middle School PTA donated 22 books for the middle school library.
“Thank you to the Elwood Booster Club, the middle school PTA and Target for their generous donations,” said Superintendent of Schools Peter Scordo. “Their donations highlight the generosity of so many community and school organizations to our district.”
