At its business meeting on Nov. 20, the Board of Education accepted a number of donations to the district’s schools. The Elwood Booster Club donated $8,732.30 to fund leveled libraries at James H. Boyd Intermediate School. Elwood Youth Wrestling made a donation of $3,745 to fund new wrestling mats at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School. Elwood’s SEPTA generously donated $2,500 to fund 2015 Finals/Regents preparation program at the high school and made an additional $1,500 donation to fund exam extra help programs at Elwood Middle School.

Ohiopyle Prints Inc. made a donation of $45.26 for co-curricular expenses at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School. In addition, New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) donated $54.65 in royalty fees from the sale of high school merchandise.

“We thank the Elwood Booster Club and all the other donators for their generous contributions to our district,” said Superintendent of Schools Peter Scordo. “Donations like these support our educational and co-curricular program and allow us to offer opportunities for our students that otherwise would not be possible.”
