Honoring America’s Bravest

In honor of the brave men and women who serve and have served our country, Elwood-John H. Glenn High School held their  “Field of Honor” closing ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 2. The event included special patriotic singing and instrumental performances by high school students along with members of the student government reading the names of men and women who had a flag flown in their honor.

Special guests and members of the Northport American Legion Mort Roberts and Bob Thomas attended the closing ceremony dressed in uniform. Sponsored by the student government, families and friends had the opportunity to purchase a flag in honor of a loved one who serve or have served our country, with all the proceeds donated to The Wounded Warriors Project.

Elwood-John H. Glenn Interim Principal Dr. James Ruck expressed his gratitude for all the men and women who fought and continue to serve our country. “They did it for the reason we can stand here today, be who we are and live our dreams. We are forever grateful for those individuals.”
