At its business meeting on January 29, the Board of Education accepted a number of donations to the district’s schools. The Elwood Booster Club donated $3,957 to fund the homework club at Elwood Middle School. A Box Tops for Education donation of $716.34 to fund cultural arts programs for the 2014-15 school year for Harley Avenue Primary School.  Rich Werner (parent of an eighth-grade student) generously donated woodworking equipment for the Technology Department at Elwood Middle School.

Stop & Stop A+ Rewards made a donation of $245.06 to fund the co-curricular budget code at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School and $304.08 to fund cultural arts programs at James H. Boyd Intermediate School.

“We thank the Elwood Booster Club and Stop & Shop A+ Rewards for their generous contributions to our district,” said Superintendent of Schools Peter Scordo. “Donations like these support our educational and co-curricular program and allow us to offer opportunities for our students that otherwise would not be possible.”
