Solomon Choi, a cellist from Elwood-John H. Glenn High School, was selected from a pool of more than 11,000 applicants nationwide to be one of 787 students named a 2015 National YoungArts Foundation winner.

To enter the competition, Choi had to complete an online application and submit an audition recording. As a YoungArts winner, Choi joined the ranks of more than 20,000 YoungArts alumni, including notable actresses, choreographers, dancers, musicians and artists. To commemorate his accomplishment, Choi received an engraved award with a list of students who were selected in this year’s awards process.

In addition, Choi will have the opportunity to participate in YoungArts New York, a weeklong music program that allows him to play in chamber music and 10 master classes with various professional music teachers in New York City.

Congratulations on this outstanding recognition!
