The Elwood UFSD is very proud to announce another recognition bestowed
upon the John Glenn High School. The Washington Post has listed JGHS as
one of America's Most Challenging High Schools. This recognition is
given to high schools that have demonstrated a commitment to provide all
students with the opportunity to take the most challenging courses.
This is the link to the Washington Post's rankings:
http://apps.washingtonpost.com/local/highschoolchallenge There is a selection by state near the top of the page.
The two main categories are the Equity and Excellence percent (E&E%)
and the Index. The E&E% is the percent of graduating seniors who
scored a level 3 or higher on at least one AP exam before graduating.
The index represents the total number of AP exams taken by all JGHS in
2014 divided by the number of students graduating in 2014. Both of these
categories could also include IB exams which we do not currently offer.
Congratulations to our students, teachers, and administrators for all of
their hard work and to our parents for their continued support.
