Students entering the third grade at James H. Boyd Intermediate School, sixth grade at Elwood Middle School and ninth grade at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School were given a sneak peek into the school year when they participated in their respective school buildings’ orientations on Aug. 25.
During the orientations, the students were educated on building procedures, received their class schedules and interacted with fellow classmates. Following a presentation by building administrators, incoming third- and ninth-grade students were led on a tour of the school building by upperclassmen. At the middle school, soon-to-be sixth-graders received their Google Chromebooks, which they will use for the duration of their education at Elwood Middle School. In addition, students had the opportunity to meet faculty and staff members and learned about the school’s programs, clubs and events.
“This school provides all kinds of opportunities for you, and our hope is that you take advantage of them,” said Elwood-John H. Glenn High School Interim Principal Dr. James Ruck.
