Kristina Duswalt, a senior at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School, finished a successful season as an independent gymnast on the Walt Whitman High School girls varsity gymnastics team, with personal bests in several events.

Duswalt finished off the season at the Suffolk County Individual Championship Meet on Nov. 13 at Babylon High School, where she performed her vault routine. She performed a more difficult vault, called a tsukahara, than done previously in the season and received a score of 8.7.

“Kristina is a very hard worker,” said gymnastics coach Angela Gunsel. “She was an asset to the Walt Whitman gymnastics team. The girls looked up to her and turned to her for guidance many times.”

The district extends its congratulations to Kristina Duswalt on a successful season.
