During the month of November, students in Suzanne Reilly’s fifth-grade class at James H. Boyd Intermediate School participated in the Operation Shoebox program.
Operation Shoebox allows private sectors to collect and donate specific items to our military. The organization ensures that every individual member of the armed forces who requests a care package receives one.
Through their collaborative efforts, students collected more than 96lbs of goods including, hygiene products, candy, holiday decorations and various food items. In addition, the students expressed their gratitude to the service men and women with letters, poems and pictures they included in the care packages.
“What a wonderful opportunity to give thanks to those that serve,” said Mrs. Reilly
