An ‘Egg’-cellent Community Service Project

As part of a community service project, members of the Elwood-John H. Glenn High School Mock Trial team, along with adviser Megan Gieser, purchased and filled 20 Easter baskets to benefit children affiliated with the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, an organization that provides legal support for children who have suffered abuse.

As a group, students filled each Easter basket with a stuffed animal, a chocolate bunny, jelly beans, ring pops, colored and chocolate eggs and other candy treats. Once the baskets were complete, Gieser delivered them to the Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center at the Pat and Mary Bagnato Place for Kids in Central Islip.

“In the future, we plan to run fundraisers and actively help, as best we can, to support the program,” said Gieser.
