For the second-consecutive year, the Special Education Parent-Teacher Association sponsored a wheelchair basketball game as a culmination to its Disabilities Awareness Week.
Leading up to the game, students throughout the district participated in a number of special assemblies and activities that celebrated disabilities awareness. Uniting the Elwood community, students, faculty and administrator rallied together as they competed against members of the New York Rolling Fury, a youth wheelchair basketball program, in a friendly wheelchair basketball tournament.
Fans cheered from the bleachers as members of the Elwood team and New York Rolling Fury moved the basketball across the court and into the basket.
