Community Donations
At its business meeting on Jan. 26, the Board of Education accepted a number of donations to the district’s schools.
The Elwood Booster Club generously donated money towards a number of clubs and programs.
They donated $1,053 to fund the Robotics Club at James H. Boyd Intermediate School through 2017. The organization also donated $6,300 to fund the Mathematics, Robotics and ESL Homework Club at Elwood Middle School through June 2017. They donated $120 toward funding the STEAM Program and $2,106 to fund the ESL Homework Club at James H. Boyd Intermediate School through June 2017. In addition, the Elwood Booster Club donated $1,053 to fund the Crazy 8’s Math Club at Harley Avenue Primary School through June 2017.
Donations were also made by Elwood SEPTA. The organization donated $528 to fund the Winter Krafty Kids Club and $500 to fund the SEPTA Friendship Club at Harley Avenue Primary School.
The Elwood Middle School PTA donated $75 and James H. Boyd PTA donated $500 toward the STEAM Program.
Mr. Bill Rom generously donated a Tred Sled by Rogers Athletic Company which has an estimated value of $6,000 to the Elwood Athletics Department.
Donations of $1,137.56 and $22.73 were made to fund the Barbara Quigley Memorial Fund, and the John H. Glenn Football Alumni Association donated $3,106.90 to fund the expenses associated with lift equipment rental.
The district thanks these organizations and individuals for their contributions and extreme generosity. With your support, students are now given opportunities that otherwise would not be possible.
