Elwood-John H. Glenn High School students from Diane Locascio's AP Psychology classes visited the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center on May 24, to further their studies on mental illness. They toured the museum and met with an outpatient that discussed his experience with Bipolar Depression, along with his treatment program. Students were also provided with the opportunity to work with animals as part of the animal assisted therapy program.
“It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and provided a hands on educational experience as to the mental health system in New York State,” said Ms. Locascio.
