Congratulations to Elwood Middle School eighth-grader Rithika Narayan, who was recently recognized for her high score in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Talent Search! She attended a special rewards ceremony with her family where she was awarded for her achievement.

Rithika was among approximately 27,000 students from more than 65 countries who participated in the CTY Talent Search between March 2016 and February 2017. The CTY Talent Search allows advanced students in second through eighth grade to take challenging tests to reveal their abilities and true capacity for learning.

Students in seventh and eighth grade take the SAT or ACT, the same tests used for college admissions. Rithika was commended for scoring exceptionally high on the rigorous, above-grade-level test. Only about 25 percent of Talent Search participants earned the High Honors designation.
