Earlier this year, SCMEA launched the All-County A Cappella Ensemble, a pilot program for the organization. Students throughout Suffolk County auditioned for a panel of judges to be selected for the first All-County A Cappella ensemble in New York State.

Of the 22 students selected for this premiere ensemble, two were Elwood-John H. Glenn High School juniors: Makenzy Chaikin, an alto, and Meghan Rivardo, a soprano.

After intensive rehearsals, the ensemble put on an incredible performance at Connetquot High School on May 26th. In addition, high school a cappella groups from all over Suffolk County also performed, including Elwood-John H. Glenn’s own Acappelwood.
