Decked out in warm, fuzzy hats, second graders across Harley Avenue Primary School celebrated their creative writing skills on Nov. 20. The “Warm, Fuzzy Writing Celebration” was a culminating event to celebrate students’ hard work in creating realistic fiction stories. Each student read their story to a peer and offered "warm and fuzzy" notes to the author, complimenting the writer on something specific in their story.

“Hearing compliments from our friends about our writing made us feel warm and fuzzy inside,” second grade teacher Amy Schombs said, adding that the second graders are working towards writing a realistic series book set to share with the Elwood school community.
