North Shore University Hospital visited Elwood-John H. Glenn High School on March 7 and 8 to train students in the Stop the Bleed program during physical education classes. Stop the Bleed provides bystanders in emergency situations with the tools and knowledge to stop life-threatening bleeding. Led by Trauma Program Manager Cristy Meyer and Dr. Paul Scarola, the North Shore instructors also included Dr. John Platz, EMTs Lisa Colon and Ray Smith, and nurses Erika Cooper, Emily Harvey, Barbara Imbornoni, Alex Roemer, Amanda Roth and Patty Salajka.
