Nine outstanding Elwood student-musicians – James H. Boyd Intermediate School fifth grader Raho Kim (violin); Elwood Middle School sixth graders Victoria Agrawal (cello) and Lukas Davis (viola), and eighth graders Jewel Li (cello) and Camille Zreik (violin); and Elwood-John H. Glenn High School freshman Margarita Agrawal (violin), sophomores Louise Hartough (double bass) and Raim Kim (violin), and junior Davin Li (violin) – were chosen to participate in the Long Island String Festival Association’s honor orchestras in January. Orchestra students from across Suffolk County are picked for LISFA based on teacher recommendations and New York State School Music Association performance scores.

“Selection into this festival is highly competitive, and being chosen for LISFA is a testament to the students’ hard work and dedication to learning their instrument,” orchestra director Diana Gotzen-Berg said. “We are very proud of our students and are thrilled to celebrate this wonderful achievement.”
