Gumdrops, marshmallows and sprinkles were just some of the tasty ingredients that kindergartners could use to decorate their gingerbread houses at Harley Avenue Primary School on Dec. 17.
Working alongside their parents, the students eagerly painted vanilla frosting on the inside edges of graham crackers to build the walls of their holiday houses. Extra icing topped the peaked roof to simulate snow and gumdrops and sprinkles were the final touch.
And the joy of creating the gingerbread houses was only half the fun. Each of the students could bring their creations home to enjoy a tasty treat for the holidays.
