The Elwood-John H. Glenn High School girls varsity track team had an outstanding showing at the Divisional County Championships on May 29. The Lady Knights brought 15 talented athletes to compete and nearly all of them achieved personal bests, making it a truly memorable and rewarding evening. Several standout performances earned All-County honors, with Erika Hartough winning second place in the long jump, Camryn Szokoli earning second in the 3,000-meter race, Kaitlyn McNamara placing third in the high jump, Jewel Li taking third in the 400-meter hurdles, and the 4x800-meter relay team of Ava Hopkins, anchor Emma Peranio, Reema Singh and Szokoli finishing third. Finishing the night with an incredible performance was the dynamic 4x100 relay team of Hartough, anchor Morgan Hepburn, Emelia Maletta and Azn Pineda, who were crowned county champions, taking the gold with an impressive time.
