Fifth-grade students at James H. Boyd Intermediate recently hosted a Poetry Café to celebrate and share their published poems. During the event, students from Matthew Lauro’s class read selections of poetry to the parents in attendance and shared multimedia presentations using their Google Chromebooks.

The fifth-graders wrote poetry on a variety of topics, including their teachers, favorite seasons of the year, family and friends. The event provided students with a creative outlet while also teaching them a great deal about poetry and the writing process.
