Elwood-John H. Glenn High School senior Lauren Scott-Mohammed was selected to receive this year’s Western Suffolk BOCES Scholarship Award, presented by the Suffolk Region PTA Board of Managers.

Accompanied by two letters of recommendation, Scott-Mohammed applied for the scholarship award after submitting an essay about her experience in Western Suffolk BOCES’ Wilson Tech program and how she could apply the knowledge she had gained through it to her life and future career.

In mid-March, the Suffolk Region PTA and Western Suffolk BOCES sponsored a dinner and presentation event in which Wilson Tech students showcased the skills they had acquired through the program. Following a fashion presentation that she  and other fashion and design students delivered, Scott-Mohammed was recognized as the scholarship recipient.

Scott-Mohammed plans to attend SUNY Oneonta for fashion merchandising and design in the fall of 2015.
