For the past 15 years, James. H. Boyd Intermediate School in cooperation with BAE Systems of Greenlawn, has provided students with additional experience working with real-world mathematics. Engineers from BAE Systems volunteer their lunchtime to tutor students and English language learners in hands-on problem-solving concepts including counting coins, making purchases, making change and determining if their answers are accurate.
