Second graders at Harley Avenue Primary School had an opportunity to share their narrative writing skills with their classmates during an Authors’ Gala on Oct. 24.

Students in Cindy Miller’s and Amy Schombs’ class, also known as “The Schmillers,” spent time writing their own creative stories, including “Dipper Dunk,” “Best Day at Tutor Time Ever” and “The Family Fun Dance.”

Each student had an opportunity to walk the red carpet and have their photo taken with their stories. Then, the children circulated around the classroom to read their classmates’ stories and wrote a compliment about each.
