Persistent inclement weather on the morning of Oct. 14 sadly led to the cancellation of Elwood-John H. Glenn High School’s annual homecoming parade, and the accompanying Fall Festival – including games, vendors, face painting and a pumpkin patch – was moved indoors to the high school’s gym, cafeteria, front lobby, art room and hallways. Nonetheless, the community was determined to have fun and show their pride and school spirit.

Undeterred by continued rain, Elwood’s fans and their Knight mascot were out in force in the evening’s homecoming football game against Babylon, held at Manor Field in Huntington due to renovations at the John Glenn football field. Under the Saturday night lights, the Knights put on a fierce performance. Running back KaRahn King was on fire, catching four receptions for 54 yards and rushing for 277 yards and three touchdowns, while quarterback Cole Madden passed for 71 yards and Jack Sikes earned three sacks en route to a 20-14 Elwood victory.
