Six Science Students from John Glenn Recognized With Awards at LISC thumbnail218846

Six Elwood-John H. Glenn High School students won awards on May 24 for their science research at the 2022 LI Science Congress, which took place in April.

Catyann Bernhard and Kayla Schwartz won High Honors distinction and the Green Planet Award for their project, which explored the detrimental impact of laundry detergent on plants and groundwater. Sabrina Siddiqui and Arianna Vouthas won High Honors distinction and the Lloyd K. Chankin Award for their experiment, which tested the effects of ocean acidification on plankton populations. Daniella Mancini and Andreanna Mancini won Honors distinction in the chemistry division for their work, which tested the effects of carcinogenic chemicals on the regeneration of planaria.
