High Schoolers Use Chemistry to Make Mock Apple Pies

Students in chemistry class at the high school recently made mock apple pies. Guided by teacher Patricia Iadarola, the students used chemistry – and the secret ingredients of Ritz crackers and cream of tartar – to make quick apple pies without any apples. 

“Surprisingly, the apples were not missed and the pie tasted delicious,” Iadarola said.
