Elwood-John H. Glenn High School’s annual Mr. Glenn Senior Show, directed by teacher Nicole Gendjoian, was presented on Jan. 13, with the variety show’s contestants showcasing their personalities and talents through skits, singing and dancing. Eleven seniors competed this year – Tommy Cabrera, Evan Faraci, Chris Franzese, Kevin Golden, Macklin Harrigan, Sofia Haintz, Colby Knorr, Joe Pepper, Aidan Presti, Jimmy Rourke, and Jack Spataro – with Golden coming out on top.

Highlights included a live band performance with Spataro, alumnus Peter Sansanelli and math teacher Vincenzo Berto; Cabrera’s own version of Tom Holland’s “Lip Sync Battle” appearance; Haintz singing “Model Behavior”; and Knorr’s TikTok throwback to the “Rasputin” dance. Many Glenn faculty members participated in a news segment with interviews about the contestants. Juliet Beuka, Sophie Crowley, Angelina DeMarco, Brittney Pham and Aelyn Rubin served as MCs for the evening; Beuka, Kate Doerzbacher, Ava Fluddy and Madeline Stahly created the choreography for the dance finale; Amanda Chernack handled audio and video for the event; and the stage crew, led by teacher Vickie Henson, included seniors Riya Kumar and Danielle Savitsky.

“Working with all the contestants was such a funny and enjoyable experience,” Golden said. “Everyone helped each other with all the segments of the show, which created such a positive atmosphere. I was so proud to be a part of it.”

“This was one of the most creative and dynamic groups I’ve directed,” Gendjoian said. “The energy and camaraderie everyone brought to the stage was brought to every rehearsal. I loved seeing their different personalities shine. They are so talented and so much fun to work with.”

All funds raised from ticket sales were donated directly to the senior class to help with prom and banquet expenses. For the first time, raffles were included, raising $387, with half reserved for the senior class and half donated to the winner’s charity of choice, the ASPCA.
