Elwood Middle School teacher Christina Kerensky coordinated with local Girl Scout Troop 1619 to replenish the school’s food pantry to ensure that enough supplies were stocked to keep donations going through the summer. The EMS pantry was started in 2021 to support monthly food donations, which are collected, organized and packed by students and staff, for local families in need.

Students and Scouts participating were: Elliot Baravarian, Elizabeth Benvedias, Ava Haddad, Louise Hartough, Michaela Kalemera, Megan LaMena, Kylie Meehan, Brianna Mauro, Maeve O’Connor, Jackie O’Grady, Emma Rothleder, Megan Scully, Rebecca Stawecki and Nora Truncale.
