Last weekend, Elwood-John H. Glenn High School’s Knightline dance team attended the National Dance Alliance camp at Hofstra University. The event featured 120 dancers from varsity and JV teams from Commack, Half Hollow Hills West, Kings Park, Sachem North and Syosset. Competing in the Elite division, Elwood’s team earned a 94 and a third-place bronze award, as well as a growth award for excelling by leaps and bounds. Kayla Winters earned a special award from the staff for her dedication and commitment, Syvonna Rubin and Megan Scully were named All-American, and Rubin was the Top Gun winner for hiphop.
“All team members worked hard and earned an official bid to nationals in Orlando next February,” coach Allison Peiliker said. “They were amazing! “
